U Shaped Table

We have a U shaped dinette in our RV with 2 poles holding up the table top. Do you travel with the table up (with the poles in it) or do you take the poles out when traveling?

Before I tossed my dinette, I had a two legged table; legs were metal tubes. I never removed the table when travelling but you use the poles so not sure what that means. Perhaps a picture or someone with the same set up will chime in.

I have heard that some people remove the poles and put the table down, like making it into a bed for traveling. We have always traveled with the table up.

Which is better or does it matter?
