Spongy floor fix right at entry door?
I've got a spot - about 4-5" x 4" or so right in the middle of the entry door, immediately behind the metal threshold that is spongy.
This is the spot were most people would normally put their foot when entering the trailer. I haven't been able to get under it yet - I'll have to remove the step box to look under it to see what's going on, but I suspect it isn't properly supported under the step box, and since it's right on the edge of the flooring, has "given way".
Anyone else run into this - and what was your fix?
I've been thinking of taking out the step box, then laminating another piece of plywood under that entire area with some structural epoxy. I don't think there's enough room between the step box and the flooring to allow much more than a 3/8" or 1/2" thick piece of plywood - but not sure.

How old a trailer? Huge issues with Bullets with soft floors and them being replaced. Do a search and you will find lots of threads

Tim, A lot of questions are answered on point with some context. Put your camper year, make and model in your signature as well as the same for your tow vehicle and I am sure responses will be more valuable. The UserCP is located top/left in black band on every page. Click and build a signature.

That might be one way to deal with this issue. To my thinking, water intrusion caused the soft spot and will continue to get under the floor and spread the problem. What then? A bigger piece of sheet metal? Perhaps taking care of the water entry into the cabin floor would my preferred starting place.

I was thinking the same thing.... The OP's next question would be: "How do I get the rust stains off my vinyl floor and carpet?"

After reading of the issues (Mine is a 2016 Bullet Ultralite), and reading the massive thread on trying to get the problems dealt with, I've "avoided" the problem by side-stepping the issue.
We were thinking of getting another camper in a year or two - with a different floor plan.
We checked, and the 2016 is now traded in to a dealer for a 2018 LaCrosse Prime Time that is bigger and a floor plan more suited to what we want. Unfortunately, you have to get one that you think is pretty good, and then find out that it isn't EXACTLY what you really wanted. The 2016 is our 4th camper (two popups, and two travel trailers).
Thanks all!
