Leaping into the unknown.

Thanks for organizing an awesome forum. I have been lurking gathering information as we prepare for our ‘excellent adventure’. Purchasing 2014 Cougar X-Lite 21RBS. Have ordered Andersen 3350 WD to attach to 2017 Chevy 5.3L with trailer package (not trailer max). We will have about a month to practice in our front yard and a friend’s HipCamp site. Thanks to all of you that offer advice and information for those of us just starting.

Congrats on your new Cougar purchase. And welcome to the forums. Remember one thing about RVing... not only is it about the "destination", but the "journey" is just as important and should be just as fun. Sounds like your "journey" started some time ago! Again ... "Congrats!"

Hello Chuckster, decided on Andersen based on reviews and ease of installation. Especially weight.

Welcome and congrats. Good choice on the Anderson. It's a bit of a learning curve but once you get it you'll love it. When I purchased mine the dealer didn't tell me that I could loosen the nuts on the chain to connect and disconnect so I struggled to keep the rig straight when connecting and disconnecting. So loosen the nuts, connect and tighten the nuts to about 4 or 5 threads showing. Don't worry about the wing plate being straight it will straighten out when turning.

Cheers
