Table Mod Suggestions

The dinette table in my 303tg is very wobbly. This was pointed out by the dealer as a drawback to this style of dinette, but it seems to have become looser since we took delivery.

I'm looking for suggestions to help stabilize the table to take out at lease some of the wobble.

We will never use it as a bed, so my first thought was we'd just have it welded at the "seams" where it wobbles, but then my second thought was "never say never".

Any thoughts??

If you will never be using it as part of the bed, you might want to consider doing this:
(Results in a "trestle style" table)
Remove the center pedastal and replace it with two "legs" made of oak or some wood. The legs would be 1x6 cut to the right length and fastened by supports to the bottom of the table. At the bottom of each leg, you would need a piece of 1x4 or 1x3 to act as "feet". Finally, another 1x4 going across from one leg to another to provide stability. Stain and finish to match your decor.
We did this to our free-standing kitchen table. It came with a fancy single pedastal but it was wobbly as well.
This mod fits in nicely with our oak table top and oak trimmed chairs.

wobbly table

Our dinette table is wobbly too, but we definitely want to use the dinette for a bed for guests. We've already used it once and it's a very good bed for a guest, nice length.

So any suggestions for tightening up the wobble without being permanent would be appreciated as well ...

I've only had one table of the pedestal type and never could get the wobble out. I have now one with the fold down legs and it is solid but still gives us the flexibility to use as a bed as needed. Big Fan of these type.

I believe you can find the folding legs at online websites.

Why did you remove the original table? Do you have a problem with the new table and chairs moving about when you are traveling down the road? How did you cover the holes in the floor where the bolts were for the original installation?
