Be careful what you buy and try to return to CW

I ordered a cover for my 2018 Passport 2520 RL . On the advise from people on this site I decided not to cover it

I called Camping World for a return authorization number which took a week to get.

Now here is where they suck .

First I went to my local CW and I was told they couldn’t take it back because they don’t stock the cover I am returning.

Ok another call to customer service I was told that I have to return it to the manufacturer because it was shipped directly from them.
Oh and “ AT MY COST “

So I have to pay 65.00 to ship it back.

Thanks for letting me vent. And that is the last thing I will ever buy from Camping World .....

Just my thought... was it Camping World's fault that you changed your mind. I'd think their offer of a refund less shipping was exceedingly fair.. But I was brought up to lick my own calf...

I agree with you Javi.. I guess I am mostly bugged that I couldn’t just return it to a store... just about any online store that also has brick and mortar stores allow you to.

Two years ago I shipped an entire rear bench seat (folding), headrests and floor mats for our Excursion from Memphis to a Ford dealer in northern New Hampshire for $84.00, UPS. Right to their door. Weight was about 100 pounds. Might I ask how you returned this cover? $65.00?

The post office wanted 75.00. Then UPS wanted 65.00.

They should allow returns at the store.

Sometimes I look to purchase online from a store that has a local site. I'll purchase items from Walmart instead of Amazon, just for an easy return.

Don't know for sure, but on-line CW and brick-and-mortar CW may be different legal entities so that could nix the return of an on-line purchase at a store. I know they have different pricing and different sales.

Plus, unless it's recently changed some of the stores are franchises and not corporate owned.

Some things are better to purchase at a B&M.

If I had to pay that much to return it, I would have kept the cover and used it. My trailer is covered for the 4th winter now and haven't had any issues. When the cover comes off in the spring it is nice and clean.

I have returned quite a number of items purchased online to the local CW store. All ever needed is a receipt.
