Bug Screens

I saw where someone posted (on another website) that the bug screens that we put on the different exhaust outlets that they should only be put on when stored and taken off when used because the screens block too much air. I personally don't see this but the poster said that this was from mfg'rs and would void the warranty. (1st time I have ever heard that). Sooooo is this true or false?

I am interested in hearing what others say on this as I just installed screens on the furnace, water heater, frig air intake and frig air exhaust to keep the mud daubers out. I am in the process of installing the additional fans on the exhaust outlet of the frig to assist in cooling.

Nothing happened with mine. Note to selves: if they get clogged, clean or replace them. Leads to no problems!

Mine have been on this 5er since new, 5 years, wth no issues. I bought all the screens from the dealer, they said nothing about not using them. I also added metal window screen to the inside of the water heater cover as well. Had them on my last 2 5ers & never had a problem, the travel before them we had wasp in all those places & vowed to do whatever to keep them out.

Only place we recommend them is the furnace ports. Flea collars everywhere else. Norcold will void any refer warranties if screens are installed on fridge vents.

Do you just cut up the flea collars and put them behind the fridge or leave them whole ?will flea powder do the same thing?

We were told to cut them up. Didn’t ask if flea powder would work. I would think it would “blow away”.

Isn't amazing what one can learn? I am totally surprised by the answers and will act upon them when I de-winterize.
