My humble Mods.

After realizing the Grandkids were not traveling with us as much and they were having issues fitting the bunk beds in our Passport 238MLWE we decided Cougar 21RBSWE fit our wants better. I spent about a month reading most of the posts on this forum after I found it. We are heading out for our maiden trip to the Potholes State Park on Sunday.

I read all the manuals and then scanned them. I sent them to my Kindle so I don't have to carry that big binder. I am more than willing to share the scanned copies. Most of the PDF files are over 1MB in size and some are as large as 11MB

I have made several modifications, some I thought of and some from here:
110 Duplex – we want to use the shelf extension for a toaster oven or other appliances we don’t want under the cabinets so we had the dealer add an outlet.
Battery – Meth Maggots in the area (also chained the propane tanks)
Chocks – These are a trial, we will see how I did

I have also looked at the cargo tray issue with interest. Here are pics of mine. That roller piece appears to be an attempt to support the tray better. Thoughts?

Thanks
GrandBob

I have reached five pics. Please see the next post for the rest.

Here are the other four:

Hangers – Trunion storage is next
Hitch – Easier to see than “Go this way.” “Which way, I can’t see you.”
Mattress – Moved over from the Passport
Panel – Baby, what does this button say?

Thanks
GrandBob

Nice mods, GrandBob. I like the painted hitch. Even with a backup camera, I still have trouble seeing that thing. I'm gonna have to try this mod.

The painted hitch works great. Did you paint the ball mount as well? I used white on the trailer and blue on the ball mount. It makes it easier to see everything.

I like the painted hitch idea and the hangers for the crank handles. I am going to "attack" the storage compartment this year and add insulation and an LED light strip.

I just painted the hitch. The backup camera actually shows the ball and there is a line that extends out making it pretty easy to line up. I wait until the hitch shadow covers the ball and set the parking brake!

You have to get a label maker! I bought a new one a few years ago, so I could leave the old one at the trailer (on seasonal site). P-touch is the brand I like. Wait for a good sale at an office supply store, or find a coupon to use.

I used it to label:
1. all the switches on the control panel;
2. small mason jars for dried fruits, nuts, and seeds(when low, put in small travel cooler to refill at home)
3. Bins & totes in pantry
4. Medicine boxes
5. Guest bins w/ extra toiletries
Labeling helps us find stuff, but also ensures that things go back where they belong.

The clips are just broom hangers. I think I got them either at Wally World or Fred Meyer.
