Friction Hinge

i would bet he is talking about the main outside door. Mine has hinges like that.

Yes. I'm sorry, the main door. I have the same unit as you Steve.

Ok, I was unaware that there was such a thing but do a search on the site. There was a thread that talked about how some don't like them. It makes it hard to close the door and puts extra stress on the door and wall.

Mine has just enough friction to keep the wind from blowing it shut. It stays put where ever you put it. I like it.

We have one of those hinges and we love it, although we call it a "piano hinge." Our friends also wanted one but didn't want to deal with the existing hinges and their rivets and the hassle of lining up the door correctly so all they did was add two piano hinges in between the existing hinges. It works great for them.
