RV Buyers Guide

Camping World puts out an RV Buyers Guide:
https://rvbuyersguideorder.com/?utm_...21865_01022020

I was going to order one and noticed that they sell and share a LOT of personal info. I don't wanted to be buried under junk emails or get phone calls from these sources. Anyone ever buy one of these RV Buyers Guides? Not sure how i got on the Camping World mailing list anyway...

They hand them out at RV shows. Maybe when you buy your ticket your info goes to them.

I have gone to ONE RV show in the past and didn't give any info to buy my ticket. It is going on right now (we went several years ago):

The missus made me pinky swear I would never drag her to another RV show. My feet hurt and I couldn't afford much of what was being offered nor was I willing to buy an F450 to drag most down the road.

If you fill out a ticket for a drawing to win anything at an RV (or any other) show you will be "doomed" to get solicited by Junk mail and Junk calls for at least a year.

If you ordered a sewer hose adapter from Amazon, chances are Google, Amazon and your email provider all "shared your information and interests" with the entire internet. It's also possible that Amazon stocked that sewer hose adapter in their warehouse and it was "back-stocked" at Camping World's warehouse. As soon as they shipped that one to you, they sent that info to CW and ordered a replacement for the warehouse....

In today's "mega-data world" you can almost bet that if PPL got your info from something you ordered from them, CW, Amazon and Google also "mined the data to share with the competition".....

The RV Buyers Guide is also typically for sale at magazine racks and bookstores every year. You might be able to buy one there.

Just wanted to know if anyone had bought one of these books online and then ended up getting spammed. Wife and I might hit the San Antonio RV show tomorrow after church (about a 50 mile ride) and will see if they give them out there. There is a Camping World up IH35 which may be participating.
