Ask you dealer

Tampacamper -

That is one awesome truck! I've got the F350 with the diesel engine. However, before you got too far camping . . . Ford only fills the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank half full on the new trucks. Drop back past your dealer and ask them to top your DEF off, otherwise you will be back in your dealer's shop at around 3500 miles. Be sure to ask the dealer once the DEF fluid is full and the cap replaced, wash the area with cool water and wipe with soft cloth. Otherwise, you will find a lovely white crystal forest on your truck! I didn't know about the half full DEF tank, and my dealer didn't know not to let their "tech" slop DEF fluid into the tank. Around 3500 miles, I got it filled and drove almost a round trip with the fiver to OK City. When I got out at Love's to fill the tank, I had a whole forest of ammonium crystal beneath the fill door and down the side of my Forest Green truck! Looked like it had rabies!!!!!

Great matchup. Bet you would be ok with a Tundra too.

Let us know how your new baby loves pulling your trailer. I too am looking to upgrade next year as I hear about how good those new Ford trucks handle.

Thanks for the info on the DEF fluid mess.
I, too, have the new 2011 Ford Diesel. Have the F250. Massive Power.
I've got about 4100 miles on it. No DEF low message yet.
I pull a Keystone Cougar 318SAB 5th wheel. Pop in the Tow/Haul button, and pulls it easily. And, the exhaust brake works beautifully.
Happy RVing everyone.... and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!!

Phil

NeeeeW Truuuck OMG

I just cannot believe the prices of the new trucks....when a new truck cost as much as my house did when I bought it....I think Henry Ford would roll over in his grave....

They aren't cheap. I got 3 different dealerships bidding against each other. My F250 had an MSRP of $50,125. Final price was $44,600, which was below their Invoice price. THEN, I received $3,500 cash back. So, ultimate price was $41,100.... about $9,000 below MSRP. Only thing to note is, TAX was based on price before cash back, i.e. $44,600.

Very little difference between the F250 and F350. Basically, you get about an additional 1000 pounds of payload capacity in the F350.

Talking Duallies

But with the F-350, you can get the fifth wheel option from the factory and get dual rear wheels for added hitch weight.
