Just wondering how everyone picked their on-line handle?
I used to own a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme and it was Grey and back in the day of CB radios I was given the name of "The Grey Ghost" I suppose because I drove so fast it looked like I was never really there!! Anyhow, when we started camping the name just stuck.

I spent an entire working career working in the quality control field. Worked on everything from nuclear to space craft. It is not a field for the faint of heart! Having a former astronaut or an admiral grill you on decisions can be daunting. The only way to survive is to really know what the blueprint calls for and follow it faithfully. Unfortunately, such an approach makes me an awful consumer as that part of me is almost impossible to turn off. For a long time the DW would not shop with me when it came to major items and would tell me to let her know what choices she had in the end. After 44 years together some of it has rubbed off on her and since retirement I have backed off a bit. Now you know the rest of the story.

Mine was borne out of frustration. Many years ago trying to find an email address that wouldn't come back as "in use" (did I mention that my patience level is low). I like to cook and had been looking at recipes for bread.....and sourdough was one of them so tried that (and the bread). It worked so I then began to use sourdough for various purposes.

I was raised on sopurdough, Dads starter could be verifed back 100+ yrs. My starter is a young 23 yrs old. Ever make SD cinnamon rolls?

Vinnie's my actual name. Didn't figure my actual CB/online handle- Lonewolf- would play well in a social forum. Go figure. When I was a kid and picked up a CB radio, that Chuck Norris flick was the most badass thing out there, and the name stuck with my buddies for 35+ years.

My car/baby is a Black on Black 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra, that I ordered in may of 2002. I joined an SVT related message board while, I was waiting on delivery and had to come up with a name for that... B-O-B'03 was what I came up with.

I still have the car, try to drive it every day that is dry and it still puts a huge smile on my face. I have put 80K miles on it in the last 18+ years.

The cars I lusted for when a kid were possible to buy from a dollar standpoint if you were willing to eat pork and beans and work your tail off for a few years. Today only rich old guys are driving the sexy sports cars as they are the only ones that can afford them. My uncle worked all his life for Ford in a plant near Cleveland and when we would visit, I would drag him to the Ford dealer (back in the 60s) to look at those white Shelby Cobras with the blue stripe. I always lusted for one and today the closest I got was a clunker F350, but it is white (no stripe though).

When I saw this forum, I struggled for something unique, something catchy, nothing sounded good to me or like me, so I went with first name and the year of the new camper. Basically boring, just like me! Good question, BTW. (I had an old handle “Tacoma ...” something-or-other on a Toyota forum and and old email to match on Juno.com , I didn’t use it here because I no longer have the Tacoma’s)

So in grad school I needed a name for a college football pick 'em group and I just came up with Geological Engineering Grad as shorthand and have been using it in various locales ever since, minly since it always registers as "available" whenever I need to pick a name. Ha.

I use brown sugar not granulated, it carmelizes and makes them oohey gooey good!!
