Thumbs up Hello from Albuquerque

Just bought a Keystone Laredo 367bh 5th and preparing it for a 7-week road trip to Denali Alaska this summer. This is our 3rd camper, but 1st fifth. Plan on getting the Splendide vented combo and a 55gal tank for my truck before the trip. I have 3 kiddos; the wife and I would rather take the camper than stay in a hotel room in our travels. We enjoy taking a road trip to Fort Wilderness or Disneyland once a year. We scored RV reservations this year to the Albuquerque Balloon fiesta this year and we are looking forward to that.

Welcome to the forum! Used to spend a lot of time in Albq for various reasons. I am in the process of acquiring a new Montana HC. I considered a Spendide w/d combo and that choice was resounding rejected by everything I found on every forum. I would suggest moving on to the stackable Spendides that they will be installing in our trailer. You might want to do some research on the combo unit.

I'd suggest that you make sure you have several shackdown trips before you go to Alaska.
suggestion on fuel tank. get a titan or s&b fuel tank to replace the tank you have...more room in box.
make sure you bring an extra spring and several bolts/nuts and a spring hanger.
enjoy.

Howdy neighbor! Sounds like a real adventure. My next door neighbor did it twice.

OP take care on the trip. My neighbor did it as well. Said he had a great time, his wife never got in the RV again. Seems he decided to pull off somewhere and park while she went back in the trailer to prepare lunch if I remember. He did not set the brake, they were parked on an incline and the trailer began rolling backward down the mountain. The wife stepped out to see what was going on, the husband was yelling and the trailer then hit a tree and stopped. His wife came flying out the door and hit the ground resulting in some pretty good bumps and bruises (which she still had when they got home). Back of the trailer was damaged and had to he repaired. It was sold right after that and they never entertained the idea of another RV but instead bought a home up in the mountains in the vicinity of ours, so.....be careful and set that brake!!

Never had the desire to take my rv somewhere that I knew was going to cause damage, had plenty to repair usually without self inflicting more.
Do plan on another Alaskan cruise though, no cooking, no driving, no beds to make & plenty of adult beverages plus most likely cheaper.

Congrats and welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have a great trip planned, and you have a great truck/5th combo to enjoy it with. It is a good idea to have a local trip or two to iron out any issues, as Roscommon48 says. You will also find many very nice folks here who are more than happy to answer any questions! Take care!
