It’s a little sketchy getting there, although we have done it twice coming down from CT. Wildwood state park on the north shore of Long Island. Way out. Wading river is the town. Actually a beautiful area once you’re out that far. Lots of vegetable farms, turf farms, and horse farms. You can catch the train into the city, not sure how far the nearest station is, but it can’t be far. As it’s on the North shore, it’s not as crazy as the south shore with the Hamptons etc. Even with traffic it’s worth biting the bullet to go to Montauk Point beaches. Amazing. Basically 120 miles out into the Atlantic. One time we went there the beach was closed to swimming. 12 foot waves rolling in. Quite a sight. Oh, and lots of full hookup sites BTW
