I also did the slide ski install last year after I noticed the Darco waring. The biggest challenges were cleaning the old caulk off the trim strip and cutting the skis to fit around the interferences. I used straight cut metal sheers to cut the plastic with good results. I opted for the skis because they fit under the siding material so there is no chance that water will run down the side and get to the Darco bottom.
