It will not leak with slide in because it is sealed off when closed. You will caulk on the outside when you remove stripp or caulk over , you will have to remove the silicon you put on, the windows have weep holes at bottom so water will run out make sure holes are open they could be stopped up could let water run inside wall it will let water run down wall to carpet, be sure check top of slide it has trim edges that could need caulking it will let water run down wall to the carpet in between the walls . I have had a slide that leaked around the window because they did not put caulking around before they installed at factory, and on the metal edges or angles that I spoke of. I hope this will help you, if you don't stop you will get eat up with mold, because I have been there!
