I do have the little step stool I have one in the camper and I carry one at work connected to my tool bag. But I was probably thinking of the latch also maybe remove the screw on the inside that’s holding the latching part and finding some sort of ring to mount to it then I could put one on both side to balance the door when pulling it down. I will work on it this weekend and see I will try and post some pictures if I can.
