My guess: If you are both side sleepers, I suspect that a topper would help since your shoulders may be bottoming out on the platform where as at home with a box spring you may not be. That was the problem I had until we replaced our TT mattress with a thicker residential mattress.

But if you are back sleepers, stiffening the platform may be what you need.
