Lippert 404488 leveling jack problem

My Cougar 32RLI has the Lippert Ground Control leveling system with the 404488 front leveling jacks. This weekend, the system auto-leveled the trailer without issue. Several minutes later, there was a loud "pop" sound, followed by a "bang" as one of the front jacks collapsed. Long story short - the motor to the jack still runs, but just "spins" without raising or lowering the jack. In fact, I can pull the jack up and down by hand with ease - it just won't bear any weight. It's almost as if something sheared off internally. Perhaps just a shear pin where the motor hooks up to the actual jack?

The trailer is still under warranty, and I'm going to call Lippert in the morning. In the meantime, has this happened to anyone else? I'd rather fix it myself, if possible. It's just such a pain to get it to and from the dealer and wait for a repair during peak camping season. Any thoughts?
