We have an '08 Cougar and there is a caution/warning that the slide floor is not to be walked on or, if there is seating in that slide area, not to sit on the seats when the slide is IN. Our slide room is the kitchen table and living room couch. Your area may be different.

The reason for this caution is that, when retracted, the slide floor actually "rides" up slightly and does not sit flat/flush with the main floor. (There is a gap/space where our slide floor does sit slightly above the main floor.) This results in the slide floor having no support underneath. Because it has little, if any support, there is a possibility that any added weight could result in the slide floor coming apart where it joins the side walls.

This caution may be one of those types of warnings that you find on many things today to protect the manufacturer in the remote chance that something may go wrong. But it is a caution and you can ignore it or pay attention to it and walk or sit somewhere else.
