Dodge Ram Tow/ Haul Mode

This past weekend I towed engaging the Tow/ Haul switch on the dash. I've used it a few times previous but other than not allowing the transmission to shift into OD I have never noticed much difference. Truck runs at about 2100 RPM on the flats when engaged vrs 1800 when not. How many people actually use it? Pros/ Cons?? What is the difference in fuel economy people are experiencing with/ without? I'm hauling an Elite 23RB. Truck is a '13 Ram, 5.7 with 3.92 gearing.
