This would be a good time to measure the front fenders to top of tire unhooked and then hooked up. Makes me ask how much weight is lost off the front axle, and hows the steering and braking with a lighten front axle. My 1 ton does not drive any difference with 200-300 lighter front axle. I tried a 1/2 ton chev with a 24 ft/ 8,000 lb boat it was unsafe.
