The pos side of the battery is connected to a breaker close to the battery. I came off the "field" side of the breaker with #10 running it to the entertainment center. I connected it there to the inverter then plugged the TV directly into the inverter.
I think you just need larger wire from your 12v source to your inverter to carry as many amps as possible.
You wouldn't come from the converter breaker/fuse panel since that would require the converter to be on which isn't possible without a generator when boon-docking.
