Oregon state parks just this month started a 24/7 online up to 9 months in advance to put in reservations. So, who knows how this is going to be affecting finding sites. My opinion is when you know the dates you want, better go online. In the past waiting til spring or summer and phoning in, and waiting because there busy all day just to answer a call is to late. Driving to a state park and finding a spot on the coast on any weekend is likely not going to happen. Likely not on most week days either.
