It is the plug for the 12V power to the overhead light. I just can’t remember the name of the plug.
I have worked enough of them, if you don’t unplug prior to pushing the bunk back in, it rips it apart and it sounds like that’s what may have happened. Since it’s low voltage, you might just go to the local big box hardware store for replacement ends or just put a set of these in.

Use opposite ends so you can always connect positive to positive, jus keep the SUPPLY positive side insulated when not in use.

Use the FEMALE end on the supply side positive and the negative side of the light. That way you can only plug the MALE (positive) end of the light into the positive of the supply.
