It sounds like you have and are looking at automotive “starter” batteries.
If you install a pair of golf cart batteries, you’ll need to get a box or boxes that fit that size battery. No change to the converter is needed but you’ll need to wire them correctly to get 12VDC.
Battery 1 negative to battery 2 positive
Positive trailer lead to battery 1 positive
Negative trailer lead to battery 2 negative.
