I had a Chevy 3500 P/u for my tow vehicle when hauling my race car around. Had a Slide-in camper in the bed so had plenty of load.

Had a 3500 as the chassis for my Coachmen Freelander Class-C and currently have their 4500 as chassis on my Freelander Class-C motorhome.
Solid 10.2 mpg and great ride. Passenger footwell is wider in the Chevy that what we saw in Ford Class-C motorhomes and that "sold" the wife on the Chevy vs the Fords. Both Motorhomes have the GM 6.0L and I had no problems with trips from Ohio to GA or OR or MT or WY. Would buy again. GM chassis does limit our selection of Motorhomes but anything other than GM chassis would be a deal breaker for us.
