Not to be negative, but the cable to move the slide if it fails is the last thing to worry about if the slide fails. The week link on the Bal slide is the gear box. If that fails your screwed. That cable only works if the motor fails. I have had 2 gear boxs quit and the only way to get the slide to work then is to remove the chains from gear box and push slide in or out. The gear box is junk. Like I said I have had to replace 2 so far on my 2014 Outback. I know of 3 other owners that they have had the same problem. I don't believe Keystone has changed or update their slide workings in there newer models. It's a crapshoot if the slide will work or not with no warning. I wish they had a update on there slides. I'm ready to give up on Keystone and go elsewhere, JAYCO, Grand Design. A company that does not use the Bal slide
