Bought a new Alpine that came with self adjusting brakes. Pulled the hubs , replaced one rear seal , lubricated bearings and checked the brakes before our first trip. Never felt that the brakes were quite right and had them checked twice by the dealer. After about 6000 miles we returned home and discovered that three of four brakes were totally destroyed. I have no idea if it had to do with the self adjusters but I have owned other trailers without self adjusting brakes and had no issues.
I now have disc brakes and am very pleased with their performance..
