That stretch of I40 is good. Lots of traffic and trucks generally. Not much there and the scenery is....ummmm, well the scenery is just FLAT and can be flat boring. Of course if you've got time to kill might take a side trip out of Santa Rosa and run down to Ft. Sumner to see Billy the Kid's grave and the museum if that interests you, or, time it right to stop in at the Big Texan in Amarillo and try your hand at the free 72 oz. steak (gotta eat it all). After that there's a leaning water tower in McClean IIRC

but it is a good highway.
