Do you have a Volt/Ohm meter? If so then you can test for 12VDC at the motor when you press the extend/retract button. There will be 2 wires going to the motor, and it should read 12V when one direction is pressed and -12V when the other direction is pressed. If you have no voltage then you need to test for voltage at the switch. Report your findings and we can go from there.
