I'd bet if this doesn't go smoothly he'll buy another GooseBox since his new truck has the factory puck system in it and I think it came with a goose ball too.

The hitch was designed to have downward vertical pressure on the plate with horizontal pressure on the jaws, not hanging with all the pressure vertically upwards on the jaws. So I agree that's a lot of weight hanging in an unusual position!
