My DW knew from the start that that the smell of acrylics, epoxies and lacquers
smelled A LOT like house note, kid's shoes and school clothes. And once DW started her career at the federal prison I also learned that night shift, odd hours, holiday turns and everyday dangers also smelled A LOT like new cars, stock investments, vacations and utility payments.
I'll bet that every last one of you has a story to tell that starts something like this: The smell of dirt and grease from the (fill in your own) oil patch smells just like....
