Glad to see you're looking at the 350. My Alpine has very similar numbers as your Montana. I used to pull a 35' 5er, only a few hundred lbs lighter on the pin, with a 2500. I didn't think the step up to our Alpine was that big of a deal, but the first tow told me otherwise. I could definitely feel the difference, tail wagging the dog effect. I stepped up to the dually and have never looked back. Towing with an extra 2 feet on the ground is a huge difference. My opinion (echoed by pretty much everyone who has ever towed with a dually), for your families safety, for your physical relaxation, go with a dually. Trust me, when you arrive at your destination, you will feel much better, more relaxed, less muscle tension, etc. I have towed a lot of trailers for a lot of miles, never knew what I was missing.
