I have a Cougar 29BHS. I haven't really ran into any problems yet. I look at the lengths online if they're listed. Another thing I've done when going somewhere I've never been, is to see if there is a Google street view. Some campgrounds have them! We are going to Gulf Islands National Seashore next month. I made the reservation on recreation.gov. I was able to look around the campground first on Google street view. Picked my site that way. I'd say that most campsites do not have the street view, unfortunately. Never hurts to check though or at least look at it on Google earth. You can measure the sites on Google Earth.
