Sometimes it's easier to pull the sink than install the faucet with 12" flex tubes and reinstall the sink.
Adjustable basin wrenches have also worked for years and tool companies claim their new-fangled FAUCET TOOLS will just about install it for you.
Just remember to wear the correct pants when you get under the sink so anyone watching will think you are a real plumber.
