With all of the tire talk on the forum I started thinking about the process when I get new tires in the Spring. I looked up the torque values attached to my 15" wheels with 9/16" stud as shown in my owners manual. I was surprised at the step-process outlined there.

In three places they say to check torque before every trip.

After a wheel has been removed and replaced on a hub there is a 6 step process they have outlined. Using a star pattern there are three levels of torque to go through before you can move the trailer.

1st --> 50-60 ft lbs.
2nd--> 90-100 ft lbs.
3rd --> 140-150 ft lbs.

Once you are on the road they want you to re-torque 3 more times.
After 10 miles, after 25 miles and after 50 miles.
