Now the CARRYING part is a different story! I often wonder how many 250/2500's are towing on overloaded tires???

Yes, in a previous life I towed our Copper Canyon at about 12,500#, with the 2001 Ram at 1,700# over GVWR, I was still within axle rating and well with in the tires.

What has happened recently in the payload wars, is the Payload of the TV is a much higher percentage of the total axle ratings, than it was on the 2001.

This is where people push payload on a SRW 350/3500 and they are already at 95%+ of total axle rating.

^^^^And this takes us right back to what we always say - ALL the numbers matter and have to be met. With all the sales hype now on trucks it's getting very easy for a novice to miss the mark a LOT when trying to just come in under the wire weight wise in one aspect or another.
