Not sure what the salesman was telling you by saying the adapters "kick down the juice", but all the 50 amp to 30 amp adapter does is pick one 50 amp leg, along with the ground and neutral legs to feed the 30 amp female socket on the adapter. There is no magic inside the adapter.
