F vs E towing capability

What is the difference, if any, in the towing capability of an F350 truck vs an E350 van (or equivalent)? I recognize the payload capacity may be different, but is the van equally up to towing a trailer as the truck? Is the van's suspension considered too sloppy for decent handling? Are the rear end axle ratios insufficient on the van? What other issues might there be? Thanks.
