We use a Baratza Vario, but coffee is also a big deal in our house. I roast my own beans.
There are a few manual grinders out there, like those from Handground, that take up little space, require no electricity, and are most excellent.
But I get it, most people aren't into coffee like we are, so the preground beans or a cheap grinder is fine for them.
Just be aware that the moment a coffee bean is ground, the freshness starts going downhill. Again, many folks probably don't care, and that's ok too.
