If you want to "push" a few miles further, just north of Alexandria, at exit 90, is Alexandria RV Park. It's a private 15 site park with full hookups. The exit has a Cracker Barrel, fuel, BK and McD's as well as a couple small convenience stores. If you're into BBQ, Eddie's BBQ has some excellent choices.

The RV park advertises 75' x 20' sites. You'd think they might be "crowded" with only 20', but that's the size of the gravel pad. The actual space between sites is closer to 75' as well. I think the 15 sites are located on a 4 acre site, under tall pecan trees. No bath house, but they do have a laundry room and the owner lives "on site" as does the "grandfather". It's an easy on/easy off park, about 1.5 miles off I-49, and if you follow Highway 1 North to the next exit on I-49, there's no back tracking to get back on the interstate.

Here's the website. It's where we stay every time we visit "our old hometown"..... http://www.alexandriarvpark.com/

Oh, and it's $28 a night for full hookups.
