Lived in Syracuse for 8 years in the 80's. We will not be going to the Rally only because we are spending late May - mid June in Europe celebrating our 45th anniversary...already booked
IF we were going, here are some things to do:
* Skaneatles Lake...neat small village; beautiful lake.
* The remainder of the "Finger Lakes".
* Colgate University area in Hamilton, NY
* Sylvan Beach

Alexandria Bay... very busy in the spring/ summer/ fall. Take a boat tour to
Boldt Castle and see the neat homes on the individual islands spreckled all over the St Lawrence Seaway.
Back in the day, we camped on our 26ft cruiser so I cannot speak to any campgrounds. IF you have time and cross into Canada, be sure not to miss going to a government run LOCK. WOW...all by hand and workers dressed in period.
