My 2007 classic lbz doesn't know what DEF is. A axillary tank is a lot easier to add to a diesel. No worries about pump access when unhooked with extended range. Can use truck lanes at truck stop.Engine turning 1800 rpm while pulling a grade is a lot more calming than listening to that gasser scream. I have found it to be a lot less stressful pulling with my oil burner. But each to there own life is full of choices. Pick what you think is best for your situation and enjoy the journey.
