IMHO, the most "appreciable difference" between the F350 DRW and the F450 is the front axle... In years past, Ford offered the wide stance front axle as an option in the F350 DRW. They dropped that option several years ago, leaving the F350 with only the "conventional front axle". Turning radius on the F350 will be SIGNIFICANTLY greater than on a comparable F450...

I think that once you drive both, comparing "turning radius" of the two, when you consider what it takes to back a large fifth wheel into a "back in campsite", you'll appreciate the better maneuverability of the F450.....

If I had a F350 DRW that was working for my needs, I certainly would not trade it in on a F450. That said, if I were upgrading and could choose either, all other things being relatively equal on the trucks, I'd opt for the F450, just to get the wide stance front axle.

Drive them both, making a couple of "U turns" or "parking lot maneuvers" and you'll see what I mean.
