Another thing .... If you removed the pin from the break-away switch you applied your trailers brakes ..... until the battery went dead or was stolen , whichever came first. The battery will not last long with full voltage going to the brakes. The thieves may have done you a favor, stone dead batteries don't always come back to 100%.
