Fredericksburg is a zoo anymore, used to like to eat out there but won't anymore because I don't want to deal with all the people. I go there and use it as home base. If you are in the mood for a first class dining experience, try the Rose-Hill Retreat in Albert just east of town:
https://rose-hill.com/ We have stayed in Stonewall at the dumpy motel there to tourist in F-burg and then ate a first class meal at Rose-Hill. I wouldn't stay there as it is a budget buster.
