OP,

No idea where you're located or how far you are from your "servicing dealership, but that needs to be considered in how you respond to this recall. The new regulator, if you buy it outright and install it will cost you around $100. If your dealership is 100 miles away, you'll probably need to tow the trailer to the dealer, leave it for a period of time (which means two trips), or possibly they can verify the need for a new regulator and you can tow the trailer back home.

That's a 200 mile trip, fuel for the trip, your time for the trip, wear and tear on your equipment for the trip, plus any other expenses such as an overnight camping site fee, meals, and anything you buy/spend on the trip....

Even if you live across town from the dealership, the costs and hassles of having them do the recall may be greater than "just doing it yourself"...

It may be cheaper, in the long run, to simply ignore the recall and fix it yourself, or seek reimbursement after you replace the defective regulator at your own expense.

The "wishful thing to happen" is for a smooth, cost free replacement, such as is suggested in the "recall letter"... The "sad reality" is that it may likely cost you more for the free replacement than buying one yourself and doing the job at home......
