The camper is plugged into external power and I replaced the battery last fall. I had a RV repair shop look at it and they say that the converter is bad. Not sure if I trust them and they want $750+ to replace the converter. My converter is a Magnetek 6332 and I don't seem to see a direct replacement for it. If it is a converter issue can a 35amp converter be used in place of a 32amp without replacing the wiring in the camper? Thank you in advance.
Slides need real deep cycle batteries. Most common is Trojan T-105. They are 6V golf cart batteries so you need 2 in series. Don't believe claims of marine or combi batteries. They are completely different and only true deep cycle will work in the long haul. A 32 or 35 amp converter is very small, it should be more like 50 to 75 depending on slides and other heavy loads. $750 is a crazy price, the top of the line units are closer to $300 with basic units in the $50 price range. It's a simple deinstall and reinstall if it is actually bad which I doubt. Wiring might be an issue if you move up to a 50 or 75. That affects the wires that charge the batteries only.
