On the just completed trip, I found that our very long LR slide was creaking and squealing. Cables too tight. What I believe has happened to ours and a wander through other forums seems to confirms is that this slide - 12 feet - tends to sag a bit but not every time that it's extended for some reason. I readjusted and a thousand miles later the squeals have stayed away.

We had the Lippert bottom mounted rack and pinion on our last 5er and have to say that those were a nightmare to adjust and make work properly if they went out of adjustment plus replacement parts are extremely expensive if you can even find them. While never owning an RV with Schwintek or hydraulics, have listened to others tales of woe plus have seen a couple Schwinteks jammed part way open after the drive gear has 'jumped' the driven rack's track.
