If you do have a circuit going to no where, hanging loose, bare and touching ground occasionally, you may not be able to find it with a cable tracer if it's just dead-ending in a wall or run somewhere ... ? and yeah, I was one that suggested I would trace it. Hate to find out I sent you on a wild goose chase.
